Technicians to be available so that sound and lighting checks to be carried out well before the performance time (can usually be done in 60 mins.)

Sound: Music is supplied as 1 track for the act on a CD. The venue is required to provide the P.A. and sound technician. Cues for starting the track will be set at the technical rehearsal.

Lights: Unless specifically designed for the event, the best scenario for lighting our silks act is:

  1. A mid-pink wash from the front, covering the area from just below (10cm) the top of the silks down to the floor, where we need a lit area of approx. 2m x 2m around the base of each silk.
  2. A mid-pink shower (i.e. lighting from the top) above each silk.
  3. Lilac rim lights (i.e. lighting from the back).

The result is for the light to be pooled/focused 2/3 of the way up the silk, where most of the action takes place. The result is cover over the whole silk from just below the top to a pool on the floor with no sharp edges of light or shadow cutting across the silk.

This lighting to be set in a pink state and also in a lilac/blue state so that the states can be cross faded at points in the act to give the effect of: blue-pink-blue-pink-blue transitions on specified music cues. These transitions to be set at the lighting rehearsal.
